Dr. Steven Snyder reflected on the intriguing concept of how our unique perspectives contribute to the mosaic of our lives. He illustrated how something as abstract as a pile of bricks could be transformed into a work of art, through the lens of individual interpretation. Drawing from a personal anecdote, Dr. Snyder shared the story of gazing at a star through a telescope, only for his father to see nothing but darkness. This simple moment conveyed the greater idea that our experiences are inherently shaped by our perspectives. Through these reflections, Dr. Snyder challenges us to embrace the diversity of the viewpoints that comprise our collective humanity. Dr. Steven Snyder is the President & CEO for the Fleet Science Center in San Diego.Since taking on the role in 2013, he has brought ambitious science experiences to San Diego, such as Illusion which made its North American premiere at the Fleet, and Taping Shape, which opened in January 2016. He expanded the Fleet Inquiry Institute to teach the inquiry method of science learning to more than 1,000 local educators a year. Most significantly, Dr. Snyder redefined the Fleet’s role, taking it from a science center in Balboa Park to a community organization dedicated to helping all San Diegans achieve their place in our shared scientific future. With launching 52 Weeks of Science, Dr. Snyder is passionate about science education, leveraging the wealth of local science and technology resources to bring science events directly to neighborhoods. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
