I'm extremely disappointed Hunter didn't sweep the board.
Hunter, formerly known as the Golden Guard, is a major character of The Owl House, depicted originally as an antagonist. He was the right-hand man of Emperor Belos and the former head of the Emperor's Coven. Hunter was presumed to be the nephew of Belos and as such, he was dedicated to his cause of ending all wild magic in the realm, but in reality, he is the latest version of the Golden Guard clones created by Belos to serve him faithfully in his mad quest.
Upon this discovery, and realizing he can never go back, Hunter abandons Belos and the Emperor's Coven altogether. Following his desertion, Hunter relocated to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics in order to hide from the Emperor's reach. There, he found acquaintences in Hexside's students, and after coming to terms with his identity, Hunter made it his goal to help them stand against Belos and the Day of Unity.
The Boys is an American superhero television series developed by Eric Kripke for the streaming service Amazon Prime Video. The series is loosely based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which was originally published by DC Comics under its Wildstorm imprint before moving to Dynamite Entertainment. It follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities. The series stars an ensemble cast that includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara as the vigilantes and Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, and Nathan Mitchell as members of "The Seven", an elite superhero group run by the conglomerate Vought International who, while maintaining a lofty façade, are shallow celebrity figures prone to committing horrendous crimes in secret.
The Boys is set in a universe where superpowered individuals who are called Supes are recognized as heroes by the general public and work for a powerful corporation which is known as Vought International, which markets and monetizes them. Outside of their heroic personas, most are arrogant, selfish, and corrupt. The series primarily focuses on two groups: the Seven, Vought's premier superhero team, and the Boys, vigilantes looking to bring down Vought and its fake superheroes.
John, better known as the Homelander, is the main antagonist of the 2019 Amazon TV adaptation of the comic book series The Boys. He serves as the main antagonist of Season 1, and one of the two main antagonists of Seasons 2 and 3 (alongside Stormfront in the former and Soldier Boy in the latter).
He is the most powerful superhero produced by Vought International, the leader of the famous superhero team known as The Seven, and secretly the son of Soldier Boy. While putting on the front of a flawless and pure superhero team, Homelander and the Seven are in fact responsible for causing much more destruction and death than they prevent. However, their crimes are covered up by Vought through their vast media connections and resources.
Among the Seven, Homelander is seemingly the most incorruptible - not partaking in many of the vices his fellow superheroes engage in such as drugs and sex. However, beneath the act he puts up, Homelander is the worst one of all; he regards non-Supes as "mud-people" and taking joy in using his superpowers to abuse others and do whatever he wants, ultimately caring more about his public image than actually saving people. He is the archenemy of Billy Butcher, Queen Maeve, and Starlight.
The character is portrayed by Antony Starr as an adult, while Rowan Smyth portrays him as a child.
Annie January, formerly known as Starlight, is the deuteragonist of the Amazon series The Boys. She's a former member of The Seven, a group of superheroes. She was briefly excommunicated from the group after she was discovered to be a mole and ally of The Boys. But eventually resigned and became an official member of The Boys.
Annie January is as down-to-earth and sincere as they come, the girl next door with superpowers. And as Starlight, "The Defender of Des Moines", all she's ever wanted to do is save the world — and while a lot of people say that as a corny catchphrase, she actually means it. So, when she's selected to join The Seven, it's every dream she's ever had come true.
However, that dream becomes her worst nightmare when this fresh-faced Midwesterner arrives in New York and learns that the old adage is true: never meet your heroes.
