The United States strongly reacted to the Pakistan-Afghanistan exchange of firing at the border states that killed at least 8 civilians in Afghanistan and urged both the countries to exercise restraint. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also urged Afghanistan not to allow launch of terror activities from Afghan soil.
Karine Jean-Pierre said, “We urge Pakistan to exercise restraint and ensure civilians are not harmed in their counterterrorism efforts. We urge both sides to address any differences through dialogue. We remain committed to ensuring that Afghanistan never again becomes a safe haven for terrorists who wish to harm the United States or other partners or allies. So, we’ve made that very clear and we’re going to continue to be consistent”.
