Brought to you by CLIC in collaboration with North Cumbria Knowledge and Library Service, this Lunch & Learn session on 24 February 2022 saw Dr Brenda Connolly (Consultant Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Lead for Staff Wellbeing at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC)) deliver a presentation on 'Compassionate Mind Training for Staff Wellbeing'.
The aim of the session was to provide an overview of compassionate mind training, a new offer from NCIC's staff wellbeing service. Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) is an evidence-based psychological intervention which aims to help promote mental and emotional healing by encouraging people to be compassionate toward themselves and other people. Compassionate Mind Training is the psychoeducation and skills building part of CFT, but can also be used as a stand-alone therapeutic intervention. It helps us to understand, and work with, our tricky brains. It builds our abilities to use our bodies to support our minds, and develop the courage and wisdom to address our life difficulties and flourish.
