Aromatized wine is as old as wine itself, but what is an aromatized wine? Fortunately, the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) helps us break down aromatized wines using a five-component framework. This framework is part of the material of the WSET Level 3 Spirits certification.

This presentation using that framework and three examples of wines from Haus Alpenz to describe the similarities and differences between aromatized wine categories and traditions. We hope that showing some examples using the WSET framework will make it easier for you to compare and contrast different aromatized wines.
