One of most popular dance tunes of the 60s in Greece, Yiati Thes Na Fighis, was based on an older Turkish song. First sung in Greek by Yiota Lydia with lyrics by Kostas Virvos and "composed" by the singer's husband Stratis Attalides, three other versions are also presented here: a Greek American recording by Betty Daskalaki accompanied by two of the greatest instrumentalists of Greek music, Tassos Halkias on clarinet and Bebis Stergiou on bouzouki; a Turkish version recorded in Athens with words to fit the occasion by Ali Ugurlu and first up, Candan Ercetin's recent mixed Turkish Greek recording.
