4X4 is a crazy summer comedy. Three colleagues at a Tel Aviv high-tech company follow their adrenaline-junky of a boss, Motti on a road trip to the perilous Sinai Peninsula – in search of a secret beach resort.
The problem is the beach is a complete fabrication by Oded, one of the junior executives, who makes it up in order to impress Motti in a bid to secure a long sought-after promotion. The same promotion is also the desire of the two other participants: Tal, the brown-nosing asshole from marketing, and Dima – the racist, quirky Russian programmer.
Oded is flabbergasted is surprised when his capricious boss actually decides to go.
Haunted by the repercussions of his lie, Oded tries to stop the trip through various ploys – but to no avail. The four reach Sinai, cross the border into Egypt, get lost in the desert. They are subsequently kidnapped by hostile Bedouins and only manage to escape with the help of a triple-amputee Eritrean asylum seeker and the Sheikh's AK47 wielding daughter who dreams of participating in a singing contest on Israeli TV.
In the desert, Oded has to confront his friends and admit that he lied and endangered their lives. Just as things seem most bleak and hopeless – the four manage to get out of trouble. Now the only remaining question is who's getting the promotion…
