If you’ve watched my previous videos on the basics of the fast pass plus system then you should be close to booking your fast passes. Today we will put some finishing touches on that list of fast passes, we’ll discuss how to prepare your booking day set up and I’ll walk you through booking them.
FINALIZING
In my last video, DW Attraction Fast Passes You Need, I discussed the TOP 10 Fastpasses you need. This list is based on how popular the ride is and how quickly the fastpasses book up. If you haven’t watched that video, go check it out but come back so you can learn the how to’s of booking fast passes. I’ll post a link above.
At this stage you should have your fast passes prioritized. But to get prepared for booking day, you’ll need to know which day you plan to ride each attractions. If you’re new to Disney, you may also need to know which park the attractions are in. Well I’m not new to Disney and I still make note of that. So let’s look at how to make your final preparations.
Similar to the Park Selection Grid, we need to make a grid that shows each day and date of your trip, the name of the park and then input the attractions to fastpass. Type in the name and approx. time you would like to ride. Some people will already have made out their park tour for each day of their trip so that they know what fast pass times fit best in their schedules. But that’s not necessary. But something you do need to note is if you have dining reservations! You don’t want to cut it too close to a dining reservation. The fast pass times are flexible. You have an hour window to ride an attraction. Plus you can arrive 5 minutes early or up to 15 minutes late. But dining reservations are not flexible!
So when I’m inputting the attractions to fastpass onto my Fastpass/Park Selection Grid, I’m going to compare my must do attractions with the Fastpass Priority list from my last video.
I plan to try for fastpasses for the top 3 attractions but I’m not going to fast pass slinky dog so my #4 fastpass will be Frozen Ever After and I want to ride that around 11 and my 5th fastpass in order of priority will be Millennium Falcon. So now I have the1, Tier 1 fastpass selection for each day of my trip. Those will be the most popular rides so now we can move on to the easier to book attractions. Now you can move on to booking the Tier 2 attractions and I would book these in order starting with the 1st park visit. So that’s the plan!
Now we need to get set for booking. Here’s the details you need to know.
If you’re staying at a Disney World resort, you can book and I highly recommend you book on the morning of the 60th day before you arrival date. Not the 1st day you plan to visit the parks. And you’ll be able to book for all the days of your visit on this 60th day.
If you’re staying off property, you can book on the 30th day. And you will only be able tp book 1 day at a time. So the next morning you will book for the park that you will visit in 30 days and continue doing this until you’ve booked each day.
Disney begins its booking system at 7am eastern, so be sure to convert that to your time zone.
Have your Fast Pass/Park Selection Guide printed out and next to your device so you can refer to it.
I will usually have someone operate another device. Either their phone or computer to help me make those Tier 1 Fastpasses. That really cuts down on the time it takes to make the fastpasses.
It’s not unusual during a busy time of the year for flight of Passage to be booked up for the day within an hour .
You will want to log in to your My Disney Experience Account well before the 7am eastern time to make sure you don’t have issues logging in. Then hit refresh a time or 2 before 7ET. Be ready and as soon as the clock strikes the hour, refresh and get to booking.
To book, you will want to go to “Get Fastpass”, then select your date, park and search for your 1st attraction. Select your time and after you confirm, it will ask if you want to book another in the same day or a different.
You just keep going until you have your 3 selections for each day! Once you have finished you will need to start working on your park tour plans! You might decide to change some of your reservation times. Most of the times you can make some adjustments to your fast pass times for the Tier 1 attractions on the same day but note, that as more time passes, availability get less and less.
Well, I hope this video will be helpful for your planning. I know it can be a lot of information and it seems like a lot to do. It can really be fun to plan a Disney vacation. Getting the family involved really helps to build excitement and it turns what seems overwhelming into a vacation of a lifetime.
