Another contender worth mentioning for medal contention is fourth pick, Spain’s Antonio Perez, who was last year’s junior bronze medalist. For the 2023 powerlifting session, it’s apparent that he experienced a positive trajectory, where in which, Antonio, at current, as experienced a one year progression of 0.55% with a total of 830kg, especially within the early stage of his season. The likelihood of contending for the world title is rather far reaching, as the front runner as a nominated lead advantage of 5.42% and/or 45kg above Antonio. Historically, over four IPF junior championships and world classic junior division championships, the average lead advantage over fourth nominated pick athletes, stood at 8.80% and/or 68.5kg. In the past, we’ve most recently seen, for example, Antonio Perez, whom in 2021 had supposedly the fifth highest nominated total of 750kg. Ultimately, the athlete won a silver medal, with a total of 810kg, which in effect, is indicative of a 8% progression rate.
