I create a structure which I'm calling the goomba oasis. This structure is made entirely of transport clones, using a single HOLP placement and a single trio of goombas. You see, the goombas are constrained to a roughly circular region, and transport clones cause the clone to end up midway between the goomba's current position and the HOLP. Therefore, the goomba clones will end up in a smaller circular region midway between the goombas and the HOLP. Therefore, a goomba oasis has half the radius of the free roaming radius of the goombas, and all goombas in the oasis are at the same height.
This structure will be very helpful for the goomba staircase to the 5th and 4th secrets. You see, if we start the course with an ideal HOLP placement, then we can create a goomba oasis near the secrets without ANY auxiliary goombas for setup, much in contrast to the goomba staircase in which each step requires the previous steps. Of course, the goomba staircase will still be necessary, but it will lead to a goomba oasis near the secrets, and this oasis will assist Mario in redirecting his momentum so that he can collect both the 5th and 4th secrets. Here is a blueprint diagram: [ Ссылка ]
Why did I name it a goomba oasis? And oasis is defined as "something serving as a refuge, relief, or pleasant change from what is usual, annoying, difficult, etc." This exactly matches the qualities of this structure, since it can be constructed with no setup, much in contrast to the tedious exponential/quadratic setups of the goomba bridges, staircases, and ladders. In the oasis, goombas are plentiful and cheap, allowing Mario much freedom of movement. And so, if Mario can successfully get to it using the goomba staircase, we're basically golden. Here's a heatmap showing how hard it is to place goombas at different positions on the map: [ Ссылка ]. As you can see, the area defined by the goomba oasis significantly stands out.
