Spring has sprung! Flowers are blooming, weather is warming, days are getting longer, and while some people are happy to be in their garden planting seeds others prefer to be inside their house doing some spring cleaning with the fresh air blowing in the open windows. And now’s the time to paint an image that captures the essence of it all! Join me in this beginner level tutorial and learn how to paint an open and inviting rustic looking wooden window that overlooks a country scene with rolling hills, a rising sun, beautiful vibrant flowers, and a flowing white sheer window curtain moving with the warm spring breeze. Using color theory to guide us through mixing various colors, we'll develop a beaming sun that casts its glow on the sky, grass, trees, and window frame and allow for good visual balance throughout this heavenly homestead design. This canvas painting for beginners is created in an impressionistic style using a loose blending and drybrush method for creating atmospheric dimension for the sky and a dabbing and stippling technique for much of the farmland foliage. You could use your imagination to customize this image to represent a distinct type of tree, such as oak, pine, poplar, beech, maple, or birch. It could be a bright blue sky with floating clouds or a sunrise or a sunset with a little more of a dramatic feel to it. Create any sort of scene out your window for your viewing pleasure, a family-friendly farmland, distant mountain range, undulating Tuscan hills, a golf course or meadow, or even an ocean with a beach, or a pond. Paint your favorite flower; daisy, pansy, tulip, daffodil, rose, hibiscus, orchid, whatever you wish was right outside your window. You'll learn how to paint this landscape image filled with warm and inviting notes of the season leading into summer. Using simple painting techniques to add color contrast, as well as highlights and shadows, you'll bring the image to life with a 3-d photo realistic quality. The bold vibrant colors add a relaxed mood to the piece and invokes a sense of quiet stillness allowing the window to let the smells and sounds of nature into your home or dwelling. The tourism industry begins to boom once the flowers begin to bloom, as cabin fever invokes the desire to get out and smell the fresh air with taking day trips, weekend getaways, or long excursions all over the world. With the construction of the composition, you'll have fun with the simplicity of the process, but you'll also learn some valuable lessons that you can utilize in future work. This painting is sure to impress the viewer and compliment the décor of any room. Using only 2 brushes and 7 colors we'll create this conversational masterpiece with a magnificent lively seasonal energy. Not just a beautiful painting, but an easy painting for beginners. So, let's get painting and let's get sipping!
