The third film I scored for Cinema Sciences, Shock Troop is a cold war action film featuring Danny Aiello and Lyle Alzado in a story that's a little too wacked-out to be a Rambo knock-off. Despite the evil Russian officer clichés, the gibberish standing in for Afghani Pashto and the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings standing in for a Mujahideen outpost, I nonetheless really enjoyed scoring all the expansive outdoor shots, the tense tunnel-digging sequence and yes, the many action sequences. It's probably my favorite score from the 80s films I did and I'm particularly happy with the results of the remastering on this one.
