Inside of the concentration camps established during the Second World War, there were many evil guards who would execute, beat and hurt prisoners on a daily basis. But inside of Auschwitz, there was one guard who fell in love with a woman and tried to break her out of the deadliest camp of the Second World War. Viktor Pestek was an SS guard at Auschwitz, and he was known for being much more leniant and kind than other evil members of staff there. But he fell in love with Renee Neumann, and he wanted to help her escape. But he became to hate the Third Reich and the Nazis, as previously he had been spared by the kindness of their enemies during fighting in the war.
But he then met Siegfried Lederer, who was a camp elder at Auschwitz and the two then came up with a plan to escape and then return later to rescue Renee Neumann. The pair fled the camp on bicycles and Lederer was dressed as an SS guard, and they made their way back to Prague and obtained false papers. But as they returned to free Neumann, Viktor Pestek was captured by the SS and was then beaten badly and tortured. He was sentenced to death, and inside of a small village he was executed by a firing squad as the members of his former unit were forced to watch.
