A solo camp on top of a mountain, spending the night under the stars and waking up to the most spectacular cloud inversion. Nearby Loch earn was invisuble under the carpet of cloud, only the near by munros such as stuc a'Chroin and Ben Vorlich were visible, poking through the cloud tops.
I've always wanted to do a summit camp, always fancied the idea of spending the night on top of a mountain. After a couple of recent failed attempts, I was determined to make it work this time!
I headed out to a mountain named Meall an t-Seallaidh, just to the west of Loch Earn and the town Lochearnhead. The trip took me through the town and up Glen Kendrum, a quiet little glen with only the sheep to keep me company.
I spent the night on the mountain and woke up to a treat. The best views I've ever had on the mountains. It was something special. A morning watching the sun light up the clouds. First, but definitely not last summit camp!
Hope you enjoy! 😊
Kris.
