A powerful cyclone has lashed New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, and surrounding areas with strong wind and rain -- causing widespread flooding, landslides, and extensive damage to roads and infrastructure. It prompted the government to declare a national state of emergency for only the third time in its history. One New Zealand official has called Cyclone Gabrielle an “unprecedented weather event.” Another says it's the result of climate change. One climate scientist tells CNN: "It's certainly much worse than it would have been without climate change."
