»Jerry, you scare the hell out of us.« - What Henry Mancini of »Pink Panther«-fame meant by that might be Goldsmith's formula to scare composer colleagues around the globe:
(1) be highly adaptable to whatever story comes your way to score as a film composer
(2) do this on a skill level at times on par with contemporary classical composers
(3) maintain your own stylistic integrity
(4) make all that look easy
Case in point: This classicist jewel from the prologue of »The Agony and the Ecstasy«, a film that was mainly scored (and not less skillfully so) by the great Alex North. Enjoy the wonder of knowing that this comes from the guy who scored »The Omen«, »Star Trek«, »The Mummy« and »Total Recall«
