What Really Causes Alzheimer's Disease? Ask your local neurologist and they'll mention something called "amyloid plaques!" However, in some cases of extreme Alzheimer's they're finding that these individuals have little plaque...so what's really going on?
Today we talk to Alzheimer's Researcher Amy Berger, who's book Alzheimer's Antidote has brought to the fore front shocking new research that concludes that what we understood about Alzheimer's disease and related dementia may be completely wrong...or at the very least misguided...
But first What is "Amaloid Plaque" and is it the devil we think it is?

Amyloid plaques are aggregates of misfolded proteins that form in the spaces between nerve cells. These abnormally configured proteins are thought to play a central role in Alzheimer's disease. The amyloid plaques first develop in the areas of the brain concerned with memory and other cognitive functions.
However, what we are now finding is that Alzheimer's and related memory impairment is highly linked to a growing problem in the US and other westernized countries, Insulin Resistence! Could it be that the plaque is trying to help rather then hurt?
So today we're going to be discussing the true process behind some alzhiemer's dementia and what we can do to give our bodies the best chance in avoiding it!
