Russian Buttercream or sweetened condensed milk icing is the easiest buttercream I have ever made. It requires only 2 ingredients and whips up in just a few minutes. It is light and fluffy, and just melts in your mouth. Above all, it's not overly sweet as it doesn't require any additional sugar. It is great on cakes, cupcakes and macarons. The butter is beaten with the paddle attachment of a stand mixer, and when it is lighter in colour, the sweetened condensed milk is gradually drizzled in. It is better to use unsalted butter so you can control the amount of salt in the icing. However, I used salted butter in this video because that's what I had available. The icing was okay, but could be considered salty for some people.
