Hey guys, and welcome back! Today, I’ll be discussing two of the top antivirus solutions in the industry. Since I love trying out tech products, especially antiviruses, I’ve been asked about these two softwares a lot. So, in this video, I’ll compare both of them on the basis of their features, pros and cons, and pricing plans. And, by the time we’re done with the review, you’ll know which one’s the best for you. First up, we have TotalAV, which is a top-notch antivirus provider with a wide range of excellent protection features. They offer advanced malware detection and quality web protection features to protect the devices from downloading threats from phishing sites. The additional features provide data privacy protection and device optimization. When I started using TotalAV, I wanted to test if they deliver on what they promise. So, to test the antivirus scanner, I planted some malicious files onto my PC, which included viruses, worms, trojans, rootkits, ransomware, and spyware. It took about an hour to complete the full system scan, but detected all 100% of malware. The best thing about the full system scan was that it didn’t impact my system’s performance much and that’s because all the scans at TotalAV are cloud-based. Now, this is something that sets them apart from their competitors. In addition to that, there are some other scans available, such as a quick scan for scanning temporary files, a smart scan for scanning junk files and tracking cookies, and a custom scan for scanning a particular file, folder, or disk. Okay, let’s check out their real-time and web protection features. So, the real-time protection feature is active by default and constantly monitors the device for any threats that may get downloaded accidentally or enter the system through a local connection. Thanks to cloud-based scanning, detection of zero-day threats becomes more accurate and quick. And, once it detects a threat, the feature sends a notification and puts it into quarantine. Then, it provides the steps for safe removal of the threat, which is pretty great. Okay, it’s time we discuss their pricing plans, ranging between 40 and 250 dollars. Except for the two basic plans, all of them protect an unlimited number of devices. So, they’re one of those few providers that protect multiple devices at affordable rates. And, these plans also include 2 family plans with parental controls. Though all of them include good security and a lot of features, it’s the McAfee Advanced plan, which costs $90, that offers the best value for your money. It protects an unlimited number of devices with strong security and almost all of the additional features. Now, unlike TotalAV, you don’t get a free plan with McAfee. But, all their plans are backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee so you can try them risk-free. So, to summarize, I can confidently say that TotalAV is the better of the two. It offers better malware detection rates without impacting system performance, better web protection for smartphones, a faster VPN, and budget-friendly prices. Though McAfee does a good job with their Firewall and with protecting multiple devices, I’d say TotalAV is still a better antivirus. Alright, that’s it for today.
