There are a few items that you can do to prepare for your appointment at Milan Eye Center. To ensure we are able to obtain the most accurate measurements during your visit, we request that if you currently wear contact lenses, please stay out of them for two weeks prior to your evaluation.
We also recommend using over-the-counter, artificial tears, prior to your visit. You can begin using these drops as soon as you book your evaluation, and use them 3-4 times per day in both eyes, until your scheduled visit. A few brands we recommend are Refresh Optive tears, Theratears, or Systane Plus. You can find these at Kroger, Publix, CVS, Walgreens, and on Amazon.com.

You can expect to be on-site for about two hours for your cataract evaluation. During your visit, our technicians will perform diagnostic tests using our highly specialized machines which take the measurements of your eye so that surgeons can know which power lens to select for your cataract surgery. They will also perform a detailed check of your vision and help you and the doctor understand the visual effects of cataracts in your eyes. Thereafter, your eyes will be dilated so that your physician can examine the health of your eye. After dilation, you may experience blurred vision for 4-6 hours.
The Milan Eye Center team is here to help guide you through the entire process. Our team looks forward to meeting you as we embark on your journey towards better vision.
