These short videos show some of my experiments to develop a Submarine.
Part 1 shows my test rig for a Main Ballast Tank. The MBT adjusts the buoyancy of the Boat by changing the amount of water it holds. Flooding the tank fills it with water, to reduce the buoyancy of the Boat and allow it to dive. Blowing the tank pushes the water out and allows the boat to surface.
The solution I am testing here uses two air pumps. One pumps air into the tank and pushes the water out. The other pumps air out of the tank causes negative pressure which draws water into the tank.
The pumps are driven by a 3.7v lithium ion battery.
