SPS SP NHF and SPA NHF heat shrink cable joints are suitable for armoured and unarmoured XLPE or EPR cables - cable joints are available to joint multicore power and multipair control cables (5core - 61 core).
SPS cable joints have been fully tested and comply with Transport For London (TFL) / London Underground specifications where zero halogen and reduced gas emission and smoke generation is required. Generally installed in cable tunnels the cable joints incorporate flame retardant, non halogen polyolefin heat shrink tubing with meltable inner liner - this cable joint can be converted to provide fire resistance with the modification of fire barrier tubes and mica tape over the conductor connections.
Fire resistant cable joints are extensively installed onto emergency circuits without comprising the fire survival and performance specification of the cable network.
