Most of you know that I have been unable to take anti-androgens because I suffered from terrible side effects in 2007 from finasteride. Up until now, there hasn't been anything on the market that made me want to try anti-androgens again. But now we have topical dutasteride, the most potent drug for hair loss on the market, and it doesn't go systemic as much as finasteride because of the molecular weight.
Xyonhealth released their topical dutasteride formula last month, and I've been taking it for the past three weeks. I will do monthly updates on the dutasteride and my serum DHT levels. Based on the studies published in @xyonhealth patent application, topical dutasteride reduces serum DHT by only 10-12%.
The reason I chose XYON is because of the liposomal silicone-based vehicle. This vehicle keeps the drug on the top layer of the scalp, where DHT attaches to the androgen receptor. Keeping this powerful DHT blocker local on the scalp gives you the best of both worlds. You could also try Farmacia Parati in Italy if you're not in the US. They also use a liposomal silicone-based vehicle, though it may differ from XYON's formula.
