Naseer Shamma and Jazz Legend Wynton Marsalis performing at the Peace to Sudan at the Marciac Jazz Festival in 2017. The piece went through a transition of first having an Oud variation and then an arrangement by Marsalis to suite the septet.

Together during this concert they present a rich list of musical pieces with an unprecedented fusion between Jazz and the Oud instrument. The show was at the Marciac Jazz Festival where Shamma was invited by Wynton Marsalis to perform alongside his Jazz Septet.

Shamma's participation in this project is part of a wider effort for the globalisation of the oud instrument and promoting its presence on the world stage،

"Oud centre stage"

يقدم نصير شمه ووينتون مارساليس قائمة مقطوعات موسيقية مع اندماج غير مسبوق بين موسيقى الجاز وآلة العود. كان العرض في مهرجان مارسياك للجاز حيث تمت دعوة شمّه من قبل ونتون مارسيليس الذي يعتبر أحد أهم المؤلفين في عالم الجاز اليوم. المقطوعة "سلام للسودان" تم لها توزيع مخصص لآلة العود من قبل شمه وعلى اساسها توزيع من قبل مارسالس لتناسب فرقة الجاز المرافقة لهذه الحفل المميز.

مع هذه الأمسية يهدف شمّه لعولمة آلة العود وهي جزء من سلسلة مشاريع تتجه لمنح العود حضور حقيقي في المشهد الموسيقي العالمي.
