Technique is widely used in construction of cable-stayed & suspension bridges, where the ability to support large spans is crucial. It has become an essential tool in modern bridge engineering, allowing engineers to build longer-lasting, more efficient & aesthetically pleasing bridges that can withstand challenges of heavy traffic & environmental conditions. Post-tensioning technology continues to evolve, leading to even more innovative bridge designs & enhanced performance in field of civil engineering.

These tendons are tensioned, or stretched, to a predetermined level of stress after the concrete has hardened. This process places the concrete under compression, which enhances it's structural performance by counteracting the tensile forces that bridges often encounter due to traffic loads, temperature variations & other factors. Post-tensioning is advantageous for bridges because it allows for longer spans and more efficient use of materials, reducing the overall weight and cost of the structure.
