3 days at the Hokianga Harbour, Far North, New Zealand.

Wandered down to the Omapere pier while waiting for dinner and these first few photos presented themselves. There was a sense of charm to Rawene, Omapere, and Opononi. Most of the Rawene photos were taken during an early morning walk.

A brief ferry ride transported us across to the fascinating bohemian settlement of Kohukohu. The deserted buildings from 1800's timber milling days were inhabited again during the 1970's hippy artist musician crafts period, but some have now returned to abandonment. The Freemason building in this video burnt to the ground last week.

Musically, I'm attempting to convey the raw confident identity of the Hokianga region and its alternative past.
