The narcissist isn't so worried about the absolute turmoil that's happening on the inside of them but rather if anyone on the outside can tell. They have spent their whole entire lives mastering the art of deception. If they can get you to remain inside the illusion they're trying to create, they can keep harvesting your energy to patch up their inner demons. They have a script in their mind of this false character they want to become, and you only exist to play a role that's going to fulfill this alse narrative about them. They use witchcraft/manipulation to keep feeding into this persona while you remain drained and confused.
