What has been your child’s experience with eating?
Many PDA children do *fine* with eating, because control coalesces around another basic need that they struggle with like toileting, sleep, or bathing and brushing teeth.
The variability in this “outward indicator” is also what makes it hard for professionals to understand two PDA kids who have different basic needs struggles.
Would love to hear more about your experience with eating. It is my son’s biggest basic need struggle to this day and is compounded by his extraordinarily sensitive sense of smell, taste and touch.
E.g he gags or vomits if I eat a banana near him and he can’t walk into the kitchen when the trash can is open (it’s one of the reasons he won’t throw this away - not just Demand Avoidance).
