My interpretation of the Stairway To Heaven solo from The Song Remains The Same live video.
I can clearly remember as a teenager in my first band watching this video on VHS at my mum and dad's with the rest of my bandmates Spud and Ange, and me being totally enthralled by this solo. The tone on it was so juicy you could almost chew it!!
The drum beat breakdown halfway through is a thing of beauty.
The guitar I'm using is a Chibson knock off I bought from DH Gate. It needed a lot of work mostly which I did myself. The guts of it were sound, with a two piece centre joined mahogany body and neck. Ebony fretboards and proper shell inlays, all of which I specified from the seller!
I gutted the bridges and drilled them out, plugged them with mahogany dowels and then re-drilled them to accept proper Tone Pros bridges.
I then levelled the frets and re-crowned with tools bought from Crimson Guitars and made new sctratchplates from a huge blank I got from Stewmac.
The switches were a nightmare to source but I eventually found them online.
I put in proper CTS pots, knobs, vintage caps, Switchcraft jack and Gibson braided wiring.
I also switched the nuts for Graphtech Tusq and bought period correct Gibson truss rod covers.

Once again a big thank you to the guys at Essex Amp Repairs for sorting out the wiring on the double neck to Jimmy Page spec i.e the pickup selector switch being in the middle of the guitar and installing the fabulous Iron Gear Rolling Mill Pickups in all 4 positions, all of which was beyond my remit.

I used a Yamaha THR5 for the amp sound and mic'd with an Apogee One straight into Logic.
The entire tone is coming from the THR5, A fantastic little amp in my opinion and very neighbour friendly!
The backing I got from the inter global hypa meganet with the guitar removed from the original song. So it's the actual backing track from TSRTS video.
I hope you like it as it was a bitch to record.
