Both were due to #valvular #heart disease. The first one was elevated #JVP as most of you mentioned. It may be due to various cause. In this case when the JVP was correlated with the carotid pulse, it was found that "v" wave was prominent. Thus the clinical diagnosis was SEVERE TRICUSPID REGURGITATION.
The second one as many of you mentioned looked like a carotid aneurysm or a carotid body tumour at the first look, but actually it was tortuous carotid in a elderly, hypertensive and atherosclerotic female. If you carefully look, even the opposite carotid pulsation is also very prominent. Valvular heart disease having prominent carotid pulsation is SEVERE AORTIC REGURGITATION. Yes, this was actually a dancing carotid in a tortuous vessel.
Thanks to the two nice grandmas who immediately gave consent when asked whether I can take a video.
