(6 Jul 2016) Anti-war protesters gathered outside the Queen Elizabeth II conference centre in central London on Wednesday as the findings of the long-awaited Chilcot report on the UK's involvement in the US-led 2003 invasion of Iraq were about to be released.
Protesters from the "Stop the War" coalition held signs and banners with various anti-war messages, chanted slogans, and called out the names of those killed in the war.
Two demonstrators wore masks depicting former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former US President George Bush with fake blood smeared on their hands, and were tried in a mock trial by two demonstrators dressed as judges.
The conflict killed 179 British troops and some 4,500 American personnel and helped trigger violence that killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and still rocks the Middle East.
