Recently we learnt how to add vectors using 2 different methods: the first one is the triangle method witch is easy to use cause you can add vectors by following a couple of steps; The second one is parallelogram method witch will be very useful today cause you’re gonna learn that using parallelogram method in a kind of reverse way you will get the decomposition vectors method.
By the way let’s figure out how to decompose a vector
Normally we have a vector and two direction. We want to break up our vector along these two directions
FIRSTR STEP
Draw a perfect copy of your vector starting from the cross of your directions.
SECOND STEP
Draw the parallels to the directions starting from the head of the vector
THIRD STEP
As you can see the lines that you down cross the directions in two points that represent the heads of the components. So you are ready to draw the components
FOURTH STEP
Write the name of your components, choosing them very carefully cause they derived from vector that you decomposed.
