The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is a 740 mile (1.200 kilometer) canoe trail in the northeast of the United States. It crosses four states and one Canadian province. It's one of the toughest canoe trails because there is so much portaging and upstream travelling, but the reward is enormous. It is incredibly beautiful, remote and a walk through history. This is your next adventure!
We, WeLeaf, paddled the NFCT in August/September/October 2019. Many people told us we started too late, but for us this was the perfect season. No bugs, beautiful fall colours, warm water and remote wilderness areas.
We are Zoë and Olivier, together we are WeLeaf. We are travelling around the world on human power since September 2016. We left Amsterdam by bicycle, hitchhiked across the Atlantic Ocean, cycled the Americas, north and south, hiked on the AT and did the complete Northern Forest Canoe Trail.
