Like 'Saved By the Bell', Peter Engel created 'California Dreams' (1992) for NBC's Saturday morning programming block. it began as a show about a family from Iowa who moved to California where the kids started a band. Over the years the focus would change to other characters and families but the band kept going. The original songs were mostly by Steve Tyrell; the show's theme (used for the entire run) is by Tyrell, Regina Crimp, and Guy Moon.
