Mexico is becoming a hotspot for digital nomads and people working remotely, but are local Mexicans being priced out? Does the arrival of all of these foreigners bring gentrificaion and raise the cost of living for local people?
As the cost of living rises around he world, more and more people are moving abroad for a higher quality of life but does this cause problems for the local population.
Recently, this phenomenon has been particularly controversial since a tweet saying "Do you self a favor, work remotely from Mexico City - it's truly magical" went viral. This tweet was very controversial and a lot of people criticised this person for promoting gentrification in Mexico and for making life more expensive for local Mexican people. What do you think about Mexico City gentrification?
When people from wealthier countries move to Mexico or retire in Mexico, what effect does this have on Mexican people? What do Mexican people think about this?
