Dr. Donald Corenman, MD, DC ([ Ссылка ]), is a Vail orthopedic spine surgeon practicing at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO. He specializes in all conditions and disorders of the neck (cervical spine), mid-back (thoracic spine) and lower back (lumbar spine) and has extensive experience in the anatomy and motion of the cervical spine and neck conditions, as well as the lumbar and thoracic spine. He recently launched his own educational website ( [ Ссылка ] ) for patients, physicians and colleagues to get information and to use as a 2nd resource for neck conditions and treatment options.
Dr. Corenman has been a Vail orthopedic spine surgeon for more than 18 years. He began his career in chiropractics first. He recently created this video to provide an explanation of the anatomy and motion of the cervical spine.
This video will give the individual a good idea of how the neck or the cervical spine is constructed (the anatomy). It goes over the structures of the neck such as the disc, the facets (the paired joints in the back of the neck), the foramen (the hole the nerve root exits out), the spinal canal and the nerves themselves. Function of the neck is discussed and how neck motion causes changes in the size of the spinal canal and foramen the nerves and spinal cord live in. The video discusses how a herniated disc or bone spur will cause nerve or spinal cord compression with neck motion.
