The piece is a complex waltz-fantasia, based on a older work (Mazurka Nostalgica Op.15). I took the main theme and some little elements and I developed them into something completely different, coherent with the story and the music language I had in mind. It took quite some time and effort to complete it, mainly due to my daily job as an engineer. I am satisfied to have been able to keep the music level I was used to despite the heavy-daily-work load.
Furthermore, I am now in control of every bit of the creative and technical process of producing such music. I personally prepare (tuning and voicing) my concert grand piano, I design the sound (microphones placing and setup) as well as mixing and mastering, film and edit the video. This gives me total freedom and the mental peace of having things done the way I want them to be done, without any other human interference. The workload is huge but, in my mind, worth the effort. The final products will be published on the main audio streaming platforms.
I have dreamed of a concert grand for twenty-two years. This new piece is the proper inauguration of the instrument, which I called "Albus".
This piece is dedicated to my mum and dad, to celebrate their 45th year of marriage.
