Decimus Junius Silanus was a Roman Republican moneyer. A moneyer is a private individual who is officially permitted to mint money. His coins are marked D·SILANVS·L·F. Silanus was the cognomen of a branch of the Junia gens, a noble family of ancient Rome which came to prominence during the Second Punic War, and remained important into imperial times.
