I have had so many requests on this tutorial... this cute cookie can be a lovely addition to your Communion themed cookie sets! I am using royal icing to decorate these sugar cookies.
My recipes are right here on YouTube!
I did not speed up any part of this video, I left it in real time so those who want to duplicate this can see exactly how long it takes to make them :)
I outline and fill using the same consistency. Section by section, I place cookie in front a cool fan to allow the icing to crust over (about 20 minutes) before moving to the next section.
Wait a few hours before piping eyes and nose. Wait at least 8 hours to draw lashes and lips!
** Once cookie has completely cooled, outline the design using an edible marker if you do not have a projector **
Use a medium to flood consistency for the face and arms. I used Ivory gel food paste from Wilton.
Flood consistency white royal icing for the dress
Medium to flood consistency for the hair. I mixed chocolate brown and a touch of super red.
For the hair details, I used a medium consistency.
Medium consistency black for the eyes
