STORYLINE:
The new Matterhorn Glacier Ride II from Klein Matterhorn to Testa Grigia is officially open.
It connects the Klein Matterhorn mountain station with the Testa Grigia valley station.
It allows visitors to cross between Switzerland and Italy near the famous Matterhorn mountain.
Cars take about four minutes to travel over the Theodul glacier.
Tourists can now travel between the Swiss resort of Zermatt and its Italian counterpart on the other side of the Matterhorn, Cervinia.
That whole journey includes several changes of cable car.
The new link uses 10 cable cars that can accommodate up to 28 passengers each.
They have large front windows to give the best views of the Matterhorn and Breithorn mountains.
The two resorts will now be connected for 11 months a year.
