So, what’s the difference between call and contact centers? Basically, call centers are the ones that have been around for a long time — the ones that allow agents to handle in and outbound calls.
Contact centers are fancier than call centers. They do calls, but agents in contact centers can also manage in and outgoing customer texts, web chats, and emails.
Both call and contact center systems are available using an internet-based VoIP phone system so agents and their supervisors can work remotely. Depending on how advanced the system is, they can also provide workforce management, reporting, gamification, and much more.
