The US Army needs systems that give its soldiers a distinct advantage on the battlefield because it is the country's force for decisive action.
However, warfare is developing quickly in the twenty-first century. As threats change and soldiers adapt to new environments, the Army cannot maintain all of its outdated doctrines, tactics or equipment. Platforms that are tried and true but can also change and advance are what the force needs.
The brand new Gray Eagle 25M manufactured by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. of San Diego is a prime example. It enhances the medium altitude, long endurance unmanned aircraft that is currently the Army's flagship to a higher level of strength, interoperability and combat capability.
