Learn to simulate the pump using Aspen Plus. Two case studies for the pump simulation are considered in this tutorial. The degree of freedom for the pump is 1, which means, that you have to specify one parameter to converge/simulate the pump.
In the 1st case study, the discharge pressure of the pump is specified to calculate various parameters related to the pump i.e., electricity requirements, NPSH, etc.
In the 2nd case study, the performance curve of the pump is used to calculate discharge pressure, electricity requirements, etc.

Example # 1:
a) Objective:
Knowing how to change (increase or decrease) the pressure of the liquid stream in Aspen Plus
Recognize the way of using Pump in Aspen Plus.
b) Problem Description:
Calculate duty of the pump to increase the pressure from 1 to 5 bar of mixtures half benzene and half toluene.
Example # 2:
a) Objective:
Knowing how to change (increase or decrease) the pressure of the liquid stream in Aspen Plus
Recognize the way of using Pump in Aspen Plus.
b) Problem Description:
Calculate the discharge pressure and required duty of the pump of mixtures half pentane and hexane.
We have Pump Curve data.
