👉 Learn how to determine whether relations such as equations, graphs, ordered pairs, mapping and tables represent a function. A function is defined as a rule which assigns an input to a unique output. Hence, one major requirement of a function is that the function yields one and only one result. Thus, equations, graphs, ordered pairs, mappings or tables where any of the input has more than one output does not meet the requirement of a function and hence is not a function. Our process will vary for each type of information given but the idea is the same. Does each input value map, relate, output to one unique y, output value.
