This is our last day of our Patagonia tour. Our last activity before our flight home is a cruise of the Tigre delta. The area's name derives from the "tigres" or jaguars that once roamed here. The city is created by several small streams and rivers of the Paraná Delta, the fifth largest delta in the world and the only one that flows into fresh water rather than into the sea. It used to be the playground of the rich and it still has some stunning buildings and clubs, but it now has houses of many levels, including wooden houses on stilts. The homes on the islands are accessible only by boat and on the islands there are no other means of transportation - people only walk. It was a Friday in March, which is the end of summer, so it was not as active and crowded as it would have been if it was the weekend. It was still nice to see the different way of life, with boats making food deliveries and people canoeing everywhere. It must be a very pleasant way to spend a weekend or even longer.
