This is the big one, my twist on the Jago's Theme from the (newer) Killer Instinct game SPECIAL for GameLark and Materia Collective's new album, VERSUS! When I found out we were doing a fighting game album, I panicked considering I don't ever play, let alone cover tracks of this game-source! I clicked on the very first game in the EVO 2016 list and fell in love with the Tibetan Monk meets in-your-face cinematic soundtracks of Mick Gordon! I knew it would work well as a metal song, but I also felt like my soul wouldn't be there. Leave it to A.R. Rahman, classic Indian music, and cinematic scorers like Hans Zimmer to inspire me and Mama Swiggles who helped with the Hindi lyrics! Altogether this one is just a banger to me, no crazy solos just ripping out riffs and shouting a lot. MASSIVE thanks to Jackson Parodi, an amazing musician pal who helped breathe life into my track with his "harmonium" accordion and grunty-grunts. Also happy birthday to Papa Swiggles!
