Fillers have quickly become a popular trend that celebrities and the average individual alike have turned to to address aging concerns. As Dr. Karam explains here, though, fillers are not intended to be an anti-aging solution. Firstly, fillers will never replace a facelift. In order to get a lifted, more youthful appearance and reverse the effects of jowling and laxity, a facelift will be required. Second, fillers don't replace lost volume, and we shouldn't try to create new volume. Oftentimes, patients will want fillers in places like their cheeks, but the reality is that cheeks don't lose their volume over time. Thirdly, remember that fillers don't completely go away. Even though fillers do begin to dissolve, they do not completely dissolve. So, if you are constantly getting more and more filler added, you run the risk of eventually experiencing the pillowface appearance. Fourthly, fillers won't improve your skin's quality.
