This was probably the second time I saw Sevendust. The first being at Axis during their first album tour. I've seen them at least 4 times and they are always amazing, but there were on fire for the first four albums.

For a span of three years, I was into recording live concerts. It was an era of no metal detectors and rarely frisking at concert venues. I was living in Boston and constantly seeing shows as ticket prices were generally between $5-$15. Towards the end of 2001, more venues were frisking and I was gigging with my own bands.
I used a MiniDisc recorder and a powered microphone. Once in the venue, I would run the microphone up through my shirt, out the sleeve, and hold it between my left arm and torso. A black shirt and long hair made concealment extremely easy. My go to position was directly behind the front of house soundboard. Monitoring and adjusting of levels usually wasn't an option, so I used the auto setting and hoped for the best. Run time on a disc was 74mins, so if the show ran longer, the recording cut off.
The recorded has since given up the ghost and I actually had to borrow a player from a friend just to bounce all my recordings into GarageBand. I imported as hot as I could get them without clipping.
From GarageBand I saved them as an MP3 and imported them into Final Cut, were I added graphic, trimmed the audio, and added the fade in/fade/out.
