#shorts - Dentistry truly is a noble profession; we improve our patients’ lives, health, and self-confidence – and we’re well–rewarded for our efforts. That said, we firmly believe that it is our professional responsibility to give back to the communities that support us. This is the driving force behind our focus on revolutionizing dental productivity: the more dentistry you can perform, the more people you can help.
The following is Dr. Ahearn’s Mission Statement for Design Ergonomics, and its sister corporation, Ergonomic Products. It’s not about “superior design services”, “maximizing client goal-attainment”, or providing “results-oriented, systemic innovations.” Yes, we do all these things – and we’re passionate about them – but they exist to further our mission.
From Dr. Ahearn:
------------------
"Design Ergonomics and Ergonomic Products shall be advocates for those in our society who are in need of dental services, but who cannot afford them.
It is our Mission to engage 1000 clients that are willing and able to provide service at no cost to these individuals. We will provide our clients with the solutions, strategies and systems that will enable them to do so effectively, and in so doing, significantly increase their charitable giving through performance improvement.
1000 Practices, each donating $50,000 of Dental Services annually = $50,000,000 of total care given each year."
------------------
For Design Ergonomics, working with our friends at the Scheduling Institute ([ Ссылка ]) on the dental clinic at the Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana, Dominican Republic was an incredible opportunity to give back. Moises Sifren and the team at Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana, Dominican Republic are doing incredible work, providing compassionate dental care for their community. Practices can give back to communities through any number of ways: school mouth-guard clinics, group-home or assisted living outreach programs, or through numerous foundations and organizations. We’ve been fortunate enough to work with Dentistry from the Heart for over 10 years. This organization gets it – and gets it right – helping participants plan and promote single-day events providing no-cost basic dental procedures (exams, cleanings, fillings and extractions). On average, Dr. Ahearn’s practices provide almost $70,000 worth of dentistry during each event. The ability to accomplish this in one day comes not from working faster than the average practitioner, but from working more efficiently, in an environment that allows it, and within systems that promote it.
