A friend recently asked me his brand new Fender Telecaster. He had removed the original strap buttons and installed strap locks. Not long after, the strap button ripped out of the upper bout. Now he complains that his Gibson Les Paul has the same problem. The screws that hold the strap button in place don't fall out as easily as they did on the other guitar, but they do work their way loose. He talked me into patching and reinstalling the button anyway.
